Hannover opens the season with Stars and Stripes

This evening Andrew Manze starts his third season as chief conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie with a concert in Hannover’s vast Kuppelsaal live on TV, radio and internet. With three thousand listeners in the hall and five thousand in the surrounding park, Soprano Angel Joy Blue and jazz pianist Makoto Ozone join in a festive programme of Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin and, of course, Elgar’s “Land of hope and glory”.
