Next instalment of Mendelssohn symphonies cycle with NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover released on Pentatone

The second instalment of Andrew Manze‘s Mendelssohn symphony recordings is released worldwide today on the Pentatone label.

The recording features two of Mendelssohn’s ‘mature’ symphonies: No.4 the ‘Italian’ and No.5 the ‘Reformation’. It is the second instalment in a cycle of Mendelssohn symphony recordings by the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover and Manze, its Chief Conductor. The first in the cycle, Mendelssohn Symphonies No.1 and No.3, released in March 2017, was the winner of the 2017 Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik.
