Return to Gewandhausorchester Leipzig

Andrew Manze returns to Leipzig this week to conduct the Gewandhaus Orchester during their 275th anniversary year.

Manze will conduct three concerts, on Thursday 31 May, Friday 1 June and a family concert on Saturday 2 June. The all-Mozart programme will feature Piano Concerto No.20 performed by Lars Vogt, as well as a selection of songs sung by soprano Christina Landshamer. The concert opens with the overture from La Clemenza di Tito and will finish with a performance of Mozart’s Symphony No.41, “Jupiter”.

Manze will conduct “Jupiter” again in Liverpool with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in January 2019, during his first season as the orchestra’s recently announced Principal Guest Conductor.
