Andrew Manze and the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover bring their season to a close with a Czech-themed series of concerts in Hannover and Hamburg. The two concerts in Hannover on 13 and 14 June see Andrew conduct a programme of Smetana Die Moldau and the Overture to The Bartered Bride either side of Martinů Violin Concerto No.2 with soloist Frank Peter Zimmermann. Andrew brings the concerts to a close with Mozart Symphony No.38 in D major ‘Prague’. The concert on 13 June will be broadcast live on NDR Kultur.
On 15 June, they travel to Hamburg for two concerts at the city’s Elbphilharmonie for Smetana Die Moldau and Mozart Symphony No.38, this time book-ending Haydn Trumpet Concerto in E flat major with soloist Simon Höfele.
The concerts mark the end of Andrew’s fifth season as the orchestra’s Chief Conductor. He recently extended his tenure for a third time until the summer of 2023 – click here for more information.
